“R” stands for “Race” and this setup is no different. The R Series twin-disc clutch is rated to 1100 rwhp/rwtq and is a clutch that thrives at the track. These clutches are designed to be driven hard at the track with very little to no street use. We start by using a factory GM LT1 based pressure plate setup and modify the lift/release as well as plate load to increase performance. We do this and replace the carbon organic frictions with our proprietary sintered based friction discs which allow these setups to hold a tremendous amount of power and abuse without the worry of how it drives on the street. What this translates to is a twin-disc clutch that has the ability to take serious abuse and generate a clean release with all GM factory based hydraulics to 8000 rpm! We wrap these assemblies up using our patent-pending CNC machined billet steel flywheel to convert them to work in numerous applications – all of these units are balanced to less than 0.100 OZ/IN at no additional charge.
These units are designed specifically for the track though they can be driven on the street very little, these are not intended for daily driven applications unless you are absolutely okay with an aggressive clutch that doesn’t have a long lifespan. What do we mean by aggressive? It’s going to chatter/shudder during take-off and will have an on/off feel to it as well as a very heavy pedal effort – this is made worse by lightened flywheel assemblies. We recommend this clutch for any type of power adder in a racing application as long as you’re within the power rating of the clutch – this provides an excellent budget based unit for those looking to hold big power and abuse without breaking the bank.
When installed and broken in properly you should expect it to drive like a race car, there really is no other way of putting this – the only exception to this is if you are using an aftermarket master cylinder as the larger displacement will increase pedal effort and reduce the engagement window.

The rigours of drifting do not do well with full-faced frictions, beyond that we highly recommend them for all other usages as long as you’re within the power rating. These units not only thrive on the street where stop and go traffic are just as easy as driving a factory car, but they also do great at the drag strip with numerous recorded 9 second passes, as well as the road course/HPDE/autocross track which allows you to take advantage of the reduced MOI and excellent high rpm release you can rest easy knowing they are up for the task, and will still get you home.
When installed and broken in properly you should expect factory smooth operation and no chatter with a factory pedal effort and engagement feel – the only exception to this is if you are using an aftermarket master cylinder as the larger displacement will increase pedal effort and reduce the engagement window.

The heart of this design is the billet aluminum cover, which is optimized for pedal effort and holding power to combine for our most driveable street dual disc system. The features listed below help the Pro Street Dual to surpass other clutch market designs, such as:
Optimized pressure plate design – by manufacturing this cover in house, we are able to control the static pressure, release length, and lever position of the clutch and dial these in for the best possible driving experience, whether on the street or on the track.
Shift it higher without worrying about getting locked out – you will never have to worry about stuck down pedals due to high RPM shifting. The Pro Street dual handles high RPM with ease!
Optimized engagement length – If you have ever driven cars that feel like they have an on/off switch for a clutch pedal, you know how uncomfortable that can be. The Pro Street dual is easy to modulate and make a smooth engagement/takeoff.
Size – the larger the diameter the more the holding power the clutch system will have. The 10.5 pressure plate has 2400 pounds of clamp pressure, where competitor’s 9.5 assemblies typically have 1800 pounds of clamping force. This higher inertia translates into better low speed drivability in heavier vehicles, or in large camshaft profile applications. RAM started with a clean sheet of paper in designing the Pro Street Dual Disc clutch system. The heart of this design is the billet aluminum cover, which is optimized for pedal effort and holding power to combine for our most driveable street dual disc system. Optimized pressure plate design – by manufacturing this cover in house, we are able to control the static pressure, release length, and lever position of the clutch and dial these in for the best possible driving experience, whether on the street or on the track.
Shift it higher without worrying about getting locked out – you will never have to worry about stuck down pedals due to high RPM shifting. The Pro Street dual handles high RPM with ease!
Optimized engagement length – If you have ever driven cars that feel like they have an on/off switch for a clutch pedal, you know how uncomfortable that can be. The Pro Street dual is easy to modulate and make a smooth engagement/takeoff.
Size – the larger the diameter the more the holding power the clutch system will have. The 10.5 pressure plate has 2400 pounds of clamp pressure, where competitor’s 9.5 assemblies typically have 1800 pounds of clamping force. The larger clutch diameter will also further enhance heat dissipation over the smaller units. Stock pedal effort is maintained with the Pro Street Dual Disc.
Precision machined billet flywheel provides a stable mounting platform. Each unit is set up on the flywheel before shipping to insure proper release once the clutch is installed. A specification card is provided with each unit to aid you in setting up the clutch properly in the car.
Precision balance on the flywheel insures proper balance and vibration free driving. Match balancing available by special order.
Strap driven floater plate system assures quiet, no-rattle operation.
Utilization of a sprung hub top disc to ease stress on the driveline during initial engagement. Dual solid hub designs are aggressive and more susceptible to gear noise in the transmission.
